Michelle Gondokusumo 吳慧玲 Bio

Michelle Gondokusumo’s first memory of her childhood is the image of her mum playing on the piano while she and her siblings would dance about in their living room to the rhythm of each song played.

This image, etched in the recesses of her memories, forms the very foundation of her passion for music. From young, she developed a keen ear for music and being a fashion aficionado, her eye for aesthetics and what is in vogue is spot on.

A self-starter, Michelle has the ability to play by ear. She plays the piano, guitar and violin, mostly self-taught. Inspired by various genres of music, from blues to hip hop, she has a soft spot for mandarin pop songs and K-pop which she admits have a deliberate influence on her song-writing style.

This rebel-at-heart is quite the accidental songwriter and producer. Love Triangle (三角戀情) represents many firsts for this 37-year-old debutant executive producer - it is her first single, written and co-produced with accomplished songwriter Peng Chi Sheng and her first time producing a music video.

Believing music blurs boundaries and serves as a common denominator for all, Michelle hopes her songs will speak to a generation of music lovers, encouraging them that it is never too late to step out of one’s comfort zone and to pursue one’s dream.

About Love Triangle (三角戀情)

The song Love Triangle says it as it is -- It lays bare the struggles
and pain encountered by one who is in a love relationship but is
torn by distractions. It also speaks of a true love that exists beyond
and despite these distractions.

Songwriter Michelle Gondokusumo says it as it is, in hope that it
reminds the broken-hearted that true love exists and persists.
The song’s catchy, upbeat vibe mirrors the optimism the song
hopes to inspire.
