Lilas Ikuta was born in Tokyo on September 25, 2000. She is a singer songwriter and has also been active as ikura, the vocalist for YOASOBI, a unit that “turns novels into music.” She was part of PLUSONICA, an acoustic session unit until August 13, 2021. Her singing has been gaining attention with covers of “(THEY LONG TO BE) Close to you” for Google Pixel’s TV commercial and “Winter Wonderland” and the end credit song for a Netflix original film Over the Moon’s Japanese edition. In the Mamoru Hosoda-directed film Belle - The Dragon and the Freckled Princess Lilas was the voice of the main character’s best friend, the first time for her to do a voice over. In November, she wrote a song for solo singer Rei, another first – providing a song for another singer, and was also featured in the song as an artist. In December, she did a collaboration – milet x Aimer x Lilas Ikuta for “Omokage (produced by Vaundy)” which was used as the commercial song for Sony’s wireless headphone, WF-1000XM4. In November, “JUMP” was digitally released and the song became Fuji TV’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 official show theme song, the first time for her song was used for a sports program. In January, 2023 “Tanpopo,” the theme song to NHK’s drama series Ōoku was released digitally. Lilas Ikuta continues to actively spread her wings in various scenes.
